WEBSITE AND PORTAL RULES

Terms of Use

Rules governing the DSG public website, workforce portals and controlled Intelligence & Verification Portal.
Effective 20 September 2026 · Version 1.1

1. Acceptance

By using this website or an authorised DSG portal account, you agree to these terms, the applicable privacy notice and all applicable laws. DSG personnel remain subject to employment, confidentiality and operational policies. External subscribers remain responsible for their own professional, organisational and legal obligations.

2. Account eligibility and approval

Workforce portals are restricted to approved DSG personnel. The Intelligence & Verification Portal may also be used by separately vetted and approved external professionals or organisations. Payment does not guarantee approval or authorise unrestricted searches. DSG may request identity, organisational, professional, payment and authority documents before granting or renewing access.

3. Account security

You must use only your registered email, keep verification codes and devices secure, and promptly report suspected compromise. Account sharing, impersonation, automated scraping, credential resale, bypassing permissions and unauthorised exporting or alteration of records are prohibited.

4. Lawful-purpose requirement

Every identity verification, tracking activity and case record must be connected to a genuine, documented and lawful purpose. Where consent, a warrant, an official mandate, contractual authority or another instrument is required, the user must obtain and preserve it before proceeding. A declaration entered into the portal does not itself create legal authority.

5. Prohibited use

The services must not be used for stalking, harassment, intimidation, political targeting, discrimination, personal curiosity, unauthorised surveillance, identity theft, financial fraud, resale of personal data or any activity outside the user's approved professional purpose. Users must not attempt to identify or track an uninvolved person without lawful authority.

6. Verification and tracking limitations

DSG does not maintain the national NIN or BVN databases and does not represent itself as NIMC or the Central Bank of Nigeria. Verification information is supplied through an external provider and must be assessed within its stated limitations. Tracking is limited to properly enrolled devices or duly authorised operations; a telephone number alone does not provide arbitrary live location access.

7. Accuracy, confidentiality and workspace isolation

Portal entries must be accurate and made in good faith. Each subscriber may access only their authorised workspace and must protect all case, identity, photograph, client and operational information from unauthorised disclosure. Confidentiality obligations continue after access or subscription ends.

8. Monitoring and enforcement

DSG may maintain audit logs, review unusual activity, impose usage limits, require additional authority documents, suspend access, preserve evidence and investigate suspected misuse. Unlawful conduct may be reported to an appropriate regulator or law-enforcement authority. No subscription refund is required where access is suspended or terminated for material misuse, subject to applicable law.

9. Availability and external services

DSG may maintain, restrict or temporarily suspend a service to protect security, investigate misuse or comply with law. Identity-provider, email, payment, network and hosting services may experience interruptions outside DSG's direct control. A successful response does not replace independent professional judgment.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes should first be reported to DSG for internal resolution, without limiting any right to approach a competent court or regulator.

These operational terms and notices remain subject to periodic review by DSG’s Legal/Compliance Department and a qualified Nigerian data-protection professional.
